UNCEASING PRAYER

God's presence is essential

At New Beginnings, we don’t just pray when it’s convenient.
We believe prayer is the core of everything. God’s presence isn’t a bonus — it’s essential. And the primary way we pursue His presence is through prayer.

REGISTER FOR UNCEASING PRAYER

At New Beginnings, we believe God’s presence is essential—not optional—in everything we do, and prayer is the engine that creates space for the Holy Spirit to lead, speak, heal, and move. We’re believing for a canopy of prayer to cover our church, our city, and our lives—hour by hour, moment by moment.

what happens when we pray?

When we pray, we are doing more than speaking words—we are stepping into obedience and joining in the work of God. Scripture urges us to bring our prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving before the Lord, interceding for others and aligning our hearts with His (1 Timothy 2:1–4). In doing so, we reflect the heart of Jesus and become part of His mission to bring salvation and peace to the world. Prayer also transforms us. As we pour out our requests to God, He replaces anxiety with peace (Philippians 4:6–7). We begin to carry the burdens of others in humility, putting their needs before our own (Philippians 2:3–4). We learn to trust Jesus more deeply, to seek Him consistently, and to depend on His presence and provision (Matthew 7:7). Prayer shapes our perspective, grows our faith, and reminds us of the hope and power we have in Christ (Ephesians 1:18–23). Most of all, prayer glorifies God. It’s an act of worship that acknowledges His authority, goodness, and faithfulness. Jesus tells us that when we pray in His name, the Father is glorified (John 14:13). And we can pray with confidence, knowing that when we ask according to His will, He hears us—and He answers (1 John 5:14–15). Through prayer, we draw near to God—and He draws near to us.

corporate prayer & private prayer

Prayer also deepens our trust in Jesus. Whether we’re lifting up our own needs or interceding for someone else, we’re invited to come boldly and consistently before God with thanksgiving, knowing He hears us (Philippians 4:6–7; Matthew 7:7). Corporate prayer—praying together as the body of Christ—unifies the church, strengthens our faith, and creates space for shared encouragement, discipleship, and even corporate repentance. Jesus promises that when two or more gather in His name, He is with them (Matthew 18:20), and we believe God moves powerfully when we seek Him together.

Just as important is private prayer—time set apart to be alone with the Lord. Without regular, personal time in God’s presence, our spiritual health begins to suffer. Jesus modeled this for us, withdrawing to pray in solitude (Matthew 6:6; 14:23). In quiet moments of confession, worship, and listening, we are refreshed and changed. Prayer opens our hearts to the hope and power found in Christ (Ephesians 1:18–23), brings God glory (John 14:13), and reminds us that He is faithful to answer according to His will (1 John 5:14–15). Whether we pray alone or with others, prayer is our lifeline to God—an invitation into deeper communion with Him.

how do i pray?

Prayer is a conversation with God that begins with worship. Start by turning your heart toward Him through personal worship (Psalm 96). Whether through song, Scripture, or quiet reflection, prepare your spirit to enter into God’s presence. If helpful, use our worship playlist to help you focus and engage.
Begin your prayer time with praise and thanksgiving (Psalm 111). Praise God for who He is—His holiness, power, and goodness. Then thank Him for His faithfulness in your life. Be specific. What has He done in your life, your family, or your church? Gratitude helps align our hearts with His.
Next, spend time in confession and repentance (Psalm 139:23–24). Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal areas that need to be surrendered. Confess sin honestly and receive the forgiveness Jesus offers. Once your heart is clear, ask God for personal revival and a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:5–11). Pray that He would renew your perspective, deepen your dependence on Him, and move powerfully in your life, your family, and your church.
Finally, intercede for others. Join us as we pray specifically for:
  • A fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit at New Beginnings
  • Re-engagement of families who are disconnected
  • Financial provision to expand our mission
  • Revival in our church, community, state, and nation
  • A greater desire for the Spirit’s presence in every service
  • That we would become a house of prayer
  • Healing for the sick and hurting in our church
As you pray, remember that God hears you, speaks to you, and delights in meeting with you.
